Finland and Sweden to Join NATO Simultaneously

Finland and Sweden will join NATO simultaneously. This was announced by the prime ministers of both countries, reports Reuters.

Finnish Prime Minister Sanna Marin stated on Friday that Turkey’s president had told her that he has more questions regarding Sweden than about Finland. However, she assured that she will not leave Sweden out of this process.

“Of course, it is very important for us that Finland and Sweden join NATO at the same time,” said Marin.

Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson, who took office last week, remarked, “It is entirely legitimate for Turkey to want to ensure that Sweden fulfills its commitments under the agreement.”
