Samvel Karapetyan's Detention Extended for Another 2 Months: Details

The Anti-Corruption Court of Armenia has just extended Samvel Karapetyan's detention period by two months.

The court session began today at 10:00 AM. A member of Karapetyan's legal team, Aram Vardevanyan, previously stated that the Armenian Court of Appeals had decided on November 13 that the economic-related charges against Karapetyan were unfounded. Based on this logic, Karapetyan was expected to be released today. However, the Armenian Court of Cassation issued a ruling the same day, November 13, acknowledging that there are grounds for the economic-related charges. The Investigation Committee immediately submitted a motion to extend the detention on this basis.
