Russia Proposes Punishment for Parasites

The head of the federal project against security and corruption, Vitaly Borodin, known for his condemning writings against Russian citizens, has proposed to punish citizens considered to be "parasites." He has sent a corresponding proposal to the Chairman of the Federation Council, Valentina Matviyenko.

Borodin suggests introducing criminal liability for those who avoid "publicly beneficial work" and imposing a penalty of up to one year of imprisonment.

In justifying the necessity of such a measure, Borodin refers to the shortage of personnel in the labor market, the increase in crime associated with illegal migration, and the ongoing demographic issues. The proposal states that unemployment can be punished on the condition that the employment service has provided job placement options, and the individual lacks a valid reason for not working.

The document clarifies that, in addition to imprisonment, Russians could also face penalties of up to 360 hours of mandatory work, up to two years of corrective labor, or up to one year of compulsory labor.
