Over 17,000 Violations Detected: Results of Patrols' Service Last Week
From November 10 to 17, during the service carried out in the capital, Yerevan patrols identified 4,676 violations of traffic rules, moving 169 vehicles to special protected areas. Specifically, 199 drivers were found to be intoxicated, and 205 persons were driving without a valid driver’s license. Other violations included 21 related to license plates, 627 for not wearing seat belts, 6 for not having child safety seats, 491 for smoking while driving, 235 for using mobile phones while driving, 111 for jaywalking, and 1,534 other violations.
Additionally, 127 vehicles were operated without a mandatory insurance policy (APPA), 179 without passing technical inspections, 146 had malfunctioning headlights, and 67 had tinted front and side windows. 84 drivers were fined for using non-standard amplifiers while driving. Furthermore, 94 individuals were arrested on various suspicions and taken to community police departments.
During the same period in the regions, patrols detected 13,159 traffic rule violations, moving 306 vehicles to special protected areas. Among these, 202 drivers were found to be intoxicated, 395 were driving without a valid license, and 12 were driving with fake licenses. Other violations included 58 related to license plates, 2,840 for not wearing seat belts, 163 for not using child safety seats, 396 for smoking while driving, 544 for using mobile phones while driving, 93 for jaywalking, 2,234 for speeding, and 3,479 other violations.
Furthermore, 395 vehicles were operated without mandatory insurance, 869 had not passed technical inspections, 818 had malfunctioning headlights (including 38 trucks), and 170 had tinted windows. 59 drivers were fined for using non-standard amplifiers while driving. In addition, 65 individuals were arrested on various suspicions and taken to territorial divisions of community police.
