Police Units to Operate in Emergency Mode Today
Today, November 16, in the Vagharchapat community, a clear operational framework has been established by the Minister of Internal Affairs, Arpine Sargsyan, to ensure the smooth conduct of the local self-government elections. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the ministry and its subordinate services are set to carry out defined tasks and utilize specific tools for this purpose.
On November 9, the final lists of voters were posted on the websites of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Central Electoral Commission, following extensive preparatory work. "Our working group was engaged in filtering and cleaning these lists prior to their finalization, and as a result of collaboration with our police partners, the picture of inaccuracies has significantly changed. The working group will remain active on the voting day. Our mobile service unit will also be on site, providing information to those who may find it difficult to approach the territorial units," said Nelly Davtyan, head of the Migration and Citizenship Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Citizens can obtain documents to replace expired passports or receive information for inclusion in additional voter lists on voting day from the Ministry's mobile service offices, enabling them to exercise their right to vote. Employees from the Call Center will systematically handle inquiries related to migration and citizenship services at the short number 84-22 concerning the elections.
The operational management center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs will conduct online monitoring of polling stations around the clock, keeping attention on the current situation and ensuring prompt responses. Police subordinate services will operate under a heightened regime to maintain public order and safety, providing security at polling stations.
Meanwhile, the Public Communication and Awareness Department will systematically provide necessary information regarding the operations of the Ministry’s services at polling stations in four-hour intervals, and promptly if needed.
