The Number of Confirmed Measles Cases Reaches 29

As of 10:00 AM, the number of laboratory-confirmed measles cases has reached 29, with 15 individuals hospitalized, and 7 have been discharged, according to the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Armenia.

Out of the 29 infected individuals, 26 are unvaccinated, while 3 have received one dose of the vaccine. Their health status is assessed as moderate.

It is reminded that on March 3, it was reported that there were 11 laboratory-confirmed cases of measles in Armenia. By March 6, the number of confirmed cases had increased to 20.

According to the national vaccination schedule, measles vaccinations are planned for children at ages 1 and 6. The Ministry urges parents of children who have not received planned measles vaccinations to contact their registration polyclinic and vaccinate their children.

Measles is an acute viral disease with high transmissibility, characterized by rash, dry cough, fever, and other symptoms. The infection is transmitted through the air.
