Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II Votes at Polling Station 14/11

Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II cast his vote at polling station 14/11. After voting, in response to a journalist's question, Karekin II stated, “We made our choice with prayer, asking that it have a fair course, and that the city of Vagharshapat may prosper, flourish, and grant a prosperous life to our people living here.”

As previously reported, elections for the council of the enlarged Vagharshapat community are being held under a proportional representation system. On November 16, at 8:00 AM, all 47 polling stations established for the elections opened in accordance with the procedure defined by the Electoral Code of Armenia and received the first voters.

For the purpose of electronic registration of voters, 117 technical devices are being used. A total of 31 local mass media outlets (with 209 representatives) have been accredited to cover the elections and voting. Additionally, 6 observation missions have been accredited to monitor the elections, including two joint missions (with 233 representatives).

According to the data from the Ministry of Internal Affairs’ migration and citizenship service, the number of voters in the Vagharshapat community is 69,866. The number of participants in the voting will be published every three hours starting from 12:00 PM on the website of the Central Electoral Commission at www.elections.am.
