Former Head of Ijevan Accused of Abusing Official Powers

The Anti-Corruption Committee of Armenia has established that V. G., the former head of the Ijevan community, abused his official powers during his tenure. His actions resulted in significant harm to the legal interests of the public and the community by unlawfully selling property that should not have been alienated through free transfer and direct sale at approximately three times lower than its substantial cadastral value.

This information was released by the Anti-Corruption Committee of Armenia. According to the investigation, it has been clarified that the head of the Ijevan community, motivated by personal interest and in the absence of legal grounds for free transfer and direct sale, sold a plot of land measuring 1285.0 square meters, which is community property, to a resident of the same community for only 30% of its cadastral value. Furthermore, he acknowledged the ownership rights for a total land area of 1385.0 square meters in violation of the procedures established by Armenian legislation.

As a result, a sales contract was concluded with the aforementioned citizen under the authorization given by the head of the Ijevan community, leading to the state registration of rights to the property in his name. The former head of the Ijevan community has been charged with abuse of official powers. The preliminary investigation has been completed, and the materials of the case have been sent to the Anti-Corruption Court of Armenia for prosecution.
