Winter Tires Mandatory from November 15

The Ministry of Internal Affairs has announced that the operation of vehicles without proper winter tires will be prohibited from November 15 until March 31, inclusive.

Specifically, the operation of vehicles will be prohibited if:

1. winter tires are not installed on light passenger cars and cargo vehicles with a maximum permissible weight of up to 3.5 tonnes,
2. the remaining tread depth of winter tires designed for operation in icy or snowy road conditions is 4 millimeters or less while driving on those road conditions.

Administrative penalties are applicable for violations of the specified requirements. Ensuring a safe environment for the life and health of citizens is among the priorities of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
