Nikol Pashinyan: We Have Not Engaged in Such a Relationship with Wheat Trade Even Under Ezras's Blessing
Armenia will never give up purchasing wheat from Russia. This statement was made today by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during a Q&A session with the government in the National Assembly, responding to a question from Babken Tunyan, a member of the 'Civil Contract' faction.
"I officially say that Armenia will never give up, but Armenia will also never stop seeing who else is selling wheat on the market, is there an offer for wheat? I guarantee that it is excluded that someone comes and says, 'We have wheat, would you like to buy it?' and we close our ears and run away from it. I do not want to hide it; there are offers today. When they saw that we procured wheat from Kazakhstan, other sellers expressed interest, asking if this topic might interest us. We say, 'Let us know the price.' The price and quality will be interesting - will it be, or not? What is the problem? Is buying wheat a marriage? Are you my son, or are you a veteran…? There is no such relationship; we have not engaged in such a relationship with wheat trade even under Ezras's blessing," announced Pashinyan.
It is worth noting that today the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service announced that Armenia seeks to detach itself from Moscow for political reasons and intends to assist Kyiv by purchasing more expensive grain from Ukraine, as stated by the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service. Dmitry Peskov, the spokesperson for the Russian president, also stated that reports from the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service are never without basis.
