Incident on Wine Festival Day: New Details Emerge from Abovyan Murder

As reported by Shamshyan.com on November 10, a murder and a murder attempt occurred in Abovyan city in a densely populated area, in front of elderly residents and children. It is surprising that the Kotayk regional criminal police, led by the head Vardan Khachatryan, and the community police division of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Kotayk, headed by Tigran Poghosyan, were not aware of the operational situation related to this incident. It can be said that they not only hesitated at the scene but also delayed their work.

According to information from friends of the deceased, an incident occurred between the victim and the suspect months ago on the day of the Wine Festival, which later escalated days later in Abovyan and ultimately led to the death of the 24-year-old.

Reports indicate that at around 5:30 PM that day, a call was made to the Kotayk police from the Abovyan Medical Center, stating that the emergency medical team had been called to address a stabbing at 20 2nd Microdistrict in Abovyan and was providing medical assistance to a wounded citizen near School No. 7 in the city. The injured was subsequently transported to the Abovyan Medical Center.

An hour later, authorities received another call from the same medical center indicating that a young man had been brought in dead as a result of the stabbing. Law enforcement officials dispatched to the hospital established that the deceased was 24-year-old Sargis Zeynalanyan, registered in Abovyan city.

A criminal case has been initiated at the Abovyan investigatory department under the charges of "murder," "infliction of medium gravity harm to health," and "hooliganism."
