We Need to Create Jobs: Narek Karapetyan

Even if we reconstruct all the houses, if there is no money coming into the home, people will leave. We need to create jobs. This was stated by Narek Karapetyan, the coordinator of the "Our Way" movement, in a video posted on his social media page.

“Our opponents are trying to explain to us how important education is. Behind me is the school where my grandfather taught for 50 years, my grandmother taught for 30 years, my mother worked, and our family's daily stories are connected to the school, as we are a family of teachers.

The school was reconstructed 20 years ago, and I don’t think it is necessary to explain to us how important education is and how crucial school construction is. Despite all the efforts we have made with great love in our communities, over the past 20 years, people have been leaving our village because there are no jobs.

The same threat hangs over all the villages of Armenia. Even if we reconstruct all the houses, if there is no money coming into the home, people will leave. The reason for this is jobs, which need to be worked on from the very first day. Results will come very quickly. Within 1, 2, or 3 years, the pressure of unemployment will decrease in the communities,” said Karapetyan.
