The Remains of Poghos Poghosyan to be Exhumed

1Lureram has reported that the remains of Poghos Poghosyan, who was murdered 24 years ago at the "Aragats" cafe, will be exhumed. The Armenian Court of General Jurisdiction, presided over by Judge Karen Farkhoyan, has recently granted the request of the public prosecutor.

The necessity for exhumation arose following the testimony of eyewitness Stephen Newton on May 16 of this year. According to the public prosecutor, Newton's new testimony contains information that could alter the legal classification of the case and lead to the conclusion that it was a deliberate murder.

The court will reach out to the relevant authorities in Georgia to carry out the exhumation process.
