Avetis Avetisyan, Member of 'Combat Brotherhood', Arrested; Connection Lost with Two Others
The 'Combat Brotherhood' organization has reported via its Facebook page that it has lost contact with political scientist Hrant Ter-Abrahamyan, suggesting that he has likely been detained.
In the post, it is stated, "For the 'Combat Brotherhood', all of this was predictable. You cannot stop us with persecution and pressure. Our struggle will succeed, regardless."
In another post, the 'Combat Brotherhood' announced that its member Avetis Avetisyan was arrested early in the morning.
"As we understand, the current authorities of the Republic of Armenia will not be limited to this arrest. The repressions and political persecutions against the 'Combat Brotherhood' will continue. Sacrifices are inevitable in the fight for the sovereignty of the Republic of Armenia and the self-defense of the Armenian people. We understand and realize that," the post reads.
It was also reported that another member of the 'Combat Brotherhood', Masis Shiroyan, is currently out of contact.
It should be noted that the members of the 'Combat Brotherhood' had planned to visit the border community of Voskepar today, where they have been active over the past year in enhancing the local population's self-defense capabilities. However, yesterday the organization announced that representatives from the Criminal Police of Armenia visited their office and urged them to refrain from this initiative. Nevertheless, according to Hrant Ter-Abrahamyan's Facebook post, they decided to proceed with the visit.
