64-Year-Old Woman Arrested for Pushing Teen onto Subway Tracks in Moscow
A Moscow court has detained a 64-year-old woman for two months after she pushed a child onto the subway tracks. According to the Moscow Prosecutor's Office, on November 9, at the Taganskaya station, the woman pushed a 13-year-old girl onto the subway tracks. The child was unharmed, as her parents, who were nearby at the time, lifted her back onto the platform.
A criminal case has been initiated based on the attempt to commit murder, although the woman has denied the charges. Addressing the issue, the accused stated that the girl had laughed loudly while looking at her. “I took that as a personal insult. Then I pushed her, without any intention to cause physical harm or death,” the woman said.
A psychological and psychiatric examination has been scheduled. The court has chosen to impose detention as a preventive measure against Galina Malukhina for a period of one month and 29 days. Earlier, the woman had pushed the teenager onto the subway tracks.
