The Anti-Corruption Committee Has Made a Decision Regarding the Community Leader of Noyemberyan, Arsen Aghababyan

The Anti-Corruption Committee has launched an investigation into a potential conflict of interest involving Arsen Aghababyan, the community leader of Noyemberyan.

According to information from the ‘Zhoghovurd’ newspaper, the committee has decided to initiate proceedings against Aghababyan. Based on a report from ‘Hetq’, the Noyemberyan community council permitted Aghababyan's assistant’s company to lease community property for four years, a contract Aghababyan had signed. It was noted that Aghababyan's children are registered at the same address as the assistant.

Later, when Aghababyan's son became the director of the company, the lease term was extended to 25 years. The Committee has also recorded that Aghababyan, on March 14, 2024, allocated 180,000 AMD from the community budget to the ‘Kamo Mamyann’ LLC for covering organizational expenses of a meeting of the ‘Living Country’ party in Noyemberyan. According to the decision, the meeting took place on February 21 of the same year.

Aghababyan explained that the funds were transferred for a meeting with representatives of the 'Living' charitable foundation, but due to a documentation error, the decision mistakenly mentioned the ‘Living Country’ party. He reminded that he was elected from the party’s proportional list.

The Committee took this explanation into account and concluded that there was no recorded case of conflict of interest in Aghababyan's actions.
