Pakistan Warns Afghan Authorities
Ofelya
Pakistan's Defense Minister Khawaja Asif has reported that talks held in Istanbul with Afghan authorities yielded no results. He stated that the parties were unable to reach an agreement on security issues.
Asif emphasized that Pakistan is prepared to maintain the current ceasefire, but it will only continue if no further attacks are launched from Afghan territory. The official noted that the armed forces of his country are fully prepared to respond to any threat.
It is worth mentioning that tensions have risen again in the border areas between Pakistan and Afghanistan in recent months. Islamabad frequently declares that militant groups operating from Afghan territory are responsible for the attacks.
