Case of Severe Injury to a Rally Participant Near the Court Sent to Court
The investigation into the criminal case initiated regarding the incident that occurred near the Shengavit residence of the Yerevan City Court has been completed by the Shengavit Division of the Investigative Committee of Armenia. This information has been reported by the Press and Public Relations Department of the Investigative Committee of Armenia. The incident took place on September 12, 2019.
A resident of Yerevan, born in 1979, was involved in a dispute with a participant of the rally near the Shengavit residence of the Yerevan City Court, who was born in 1967. During this confrontation, he intentionally kicked the latter multiple times, causing severe bodily harm in the form of a closed, comminuted, displaced fracture of the upper third of the right tibia.
A criminal case was initiated at the Shengavit Division of the Investigative Committee regarding intentional grave harm to health under the first part of Article 112 of the RA Criminal Code, and investigative and procedural actions were undertaken to clarify all circumstances of the incident. As a result, several circumstances and motives of the incident were established.
Based on sufficient evidence gathered, a 39-year-old man has been charged under the first part of Article 112 of the RA Criminal Code. A signature not to abscond has been chosen as a preventive measure against him. Notification has been made regarding the completion of the pre-trial investigation, and the criminal case with an accusatory conclusion has been sent to court.
