Armenia to Acquire New Su-30SM Fighter Jets, Says David Tonoyan

Armenia will acquire 4 Su-30SM fighter jets as part of a contract with Russia, scheduled to take place in January-February 2020. This was stated today by Defense Minister David Tonoyan to reporters at the National Assembly.

According to the minister, the Armenian armed forces are being equipped with new and modern weaponry. “Today, the Armed Forces of Armenia are mostly acquiring new, upgraded weaponry. In 2019, as well as in 2020, both through contractual and loan programs, only new and advanced capabilities will be acquired from different countries. Keep in mind 4 countries,” the minister noted.
