He explained why he traveled to the U.S. on a charter flight. “I had to participate in the Independence Day celebrations, the 'Hero of Our Time' awards ceremony, and I absolutely had to go to Los Angeles, San Jose, and New York to take part in the United Nations General Assembly. I also had to ensure that I returned in time for the official visit of the Prime Minister of Singapore,” he added. “No matter how much we searched and investigated, there was no alternative that would allow me to attend all these events, which had been planned since last year and agreements had been reached. There was no way to fly on different flights and still make it to these events. Let the corruptors continue to pull out new money to create gossip; we will not allow that to be effective,” he said.
