Transport Vehicle Registration Process to Improve

The government made a decision during its meeting on November 6 to improve the process of registering and accounting for transport vehicles in Armenia to align it with public demand and technological developments.

Accordingly, it is proposed to replace the current technical requirements for electric motors with a capacity of over 4 kW and a maximum speed exceeding 50 km/h with those for electric motors that have a capacity of over 0.25 kW and can reach a maximum speed of over 25 km/h.

As a result, it is expected that the technical specifications of transport vehicles subject to state registration in Armenia will be in compliance with international requirements, ensuring traffic safety. The proposed technical specifications would allow such vehicles to currently operate in Armenia without state registration and accounting, which could pose significant risks from a traffic safety perspective.
