The Director of the HF Talks About the Child Who May Have Witnessed the Murder of 3-Year-Old Tigran
The siblings of the murdered 3-year-old Tigran are currently at the Armenian Relief Fund's "Child Protection Center" and are trying to adapt to their new environment.
Center director Mira Antonyan mentioned in an interview with Aysor.am that it was primarily the mother who needed preparation for the separation from her children. According to her, specialists had long discussions with the mother, explaining that this is not a process of losing her children, and she can visit them.
“The children are emotionally frozen, which may be related to the nature of their lives and the recent focus of attention on them. If I were to say they found it very difficult to separate, that's not the case. The mother is also struggling to express her emotions,” stated Antonyan.
She added that at this stage, the children need a safe and calm environment to adapt to the new conditions. “If the child witnessed the incident, then these traumatic situations must be taken into account. Now, the focus is on adapting, feeling safe, organizing daily life, and restoring interests. We need to bring them back to a normal state, and only then can we begin to work on the trauma,” said Antonyan.
