Ovchuk Discusses the Launch of Rail Connectivity between Russia and Armenia
The direct railway communication from Russia to Armenia, which passes through the territories of Azerbaijan and Georgia, has begun operations after a long hiatus.
Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexey Ovchuk announced that this initiative represents a real step towards peace and cooperation in the South Caucasus.
According to him, it is the first time since the declaration of independence that a direct railway link is established between Armenia and Russia, passing through the territories of Azerbaijan and Georgia.
Ovchuk emphasized that this form of communication could contribute to the economic integration and stability of the region by creating new opportunities for the development of trade and mutual freight transport.
