New Charges Against Serzh Sargsyan Threaten 7-12 Years of Imprisonment

On November 5, public criminal proceedings were initiated against Serzh Sargsyan on charges of receiving bribes in particularly large amounts. According to the Prosecutor General's Office, the case has been opened based on Article 435, Part 3, Clause 3 of the Criminal Code, which pertains to receiving bribes of particularly large amounts and provides for a sentence of 7-12 years in prison.
It is recalled that the new criminal proceedings against former president Serzh Sargsyan began after the courts rejected the request to lift his travel ban.
