A Map Clearly Marking Armenia, But No Mention of Azerbaijan
Expert Ernest Vardanyan has published a map from the Russian Empire on his Telegram channel, noting: “This is a map of the Russian Empire, where both Armenia and Armenian place names are clearly indicated, but there is no mention of Azerbaijan. Presumably, this map was in mind when the Prime Minister said that discussions about maps of the Russian Empire are pointless. It is evident that in that case, a very sad picture would emerge for Azerbaijan.”
“The map is taken from the atlas of Russian historian Egor Egorovich Zamislovsky (1841-1896). It depicts the territory of the Russian Empire, zones of influence, and strategic interests during the 19th century.”
