Special Investigative Service Rejects Criminal Case Against Nikol Pashinyan

The Special Investigative Service (SIS) has rejected the request of Naréq Samsonian, the president of the NGO 'Civic Awareness', to initiate a criminal case against Nikol Pashinyan.

“Today I received the response to my report on the crime from the SIS and, 'to my surprise', they have rejected the initiation of a criminal case under Article 181 of the Criminal Code. Naturally, I will appeal this decision in all possible domestic instances, and ultimately, I am confident that alongside the numerous crimes committed by Nikol Pashinyan, the characteristics of Article 181 will also be added, as Deputy Head of the SIS Hovhannisyan will be held accountable parallel to Nikol,” Samsonian wrote on his Facebook page.

It is noteworthy that Samsonian had specifically raised the question of the legality of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's relocation to a private residence in the 6th building on the balance sheet of a state-owned enterprise.

Samsonian indicated that the Prime Minister had moved to the residence in violation of the law, as per Article 7.6 of the law, which states, 'The Prime Minister is provided with an official residence in Yerevan, with appropriate service, located at 74 Dzorapi Street, Building 3.'
