The Question of Revoking Parental Rights for 3-Year-Old Tigran is Not on the Agenda
The question of revoking parental rights for 3-year-old Tigran is not currently on the agenda. This was stated by Mamikon Galoyan, the chief specialist of the Health and Social Issues Department of the Gegharkunik Regional Administration, in an interview with 'Hraparak.info'.
According to him, at the initiative of the Gegharkunik governor's office, an extended meeting of the guardianship and trusteeship commission of the Chambarak community was convened, where issues concerning the family of little Tigran, a victim of violence, were discussed. The main focus of the discussion was the organization of guardianship for the family's other children.
As a result, the children have been transferred to the Children’s Protection Center of the ‘HOF’. Galoyan noted that during the meeting, they also met with Tigran's mother, listened to her opinion, and allowed her to visit with the children.
“The mother agreed with our decision and visited the center with our guidance to see the children. She has also received the contact number of the specialist who is currently working with the children,” Galoyan said. According to him, specialists must first help the children overcome the stress they have experienced, and only afterward will the possibility of their return be discussed.
“The question of revoking parental rights for the parents is not on the agenda yet,” Galoyan emphasized.
