Pyongyang has sent approximately 5,000 North Korean soldiers to Russia to participate in "infrastructure restoration" efforts. This was reported by the South Korean Yonhap News Agency, citing the country's parliamentary intelligence committee.

South Korean lawmaker Lee Song-Gwon stated that military builders from North Korea have been gradually relocating to Russia since September and are engaging in infrastructure projects. He also noted that Seoul is observing a "continuing process of personnel training and selection for further deployment."

According to South Korean intelligence, around 10,000 North Korean soldiers are currently stationed near the Russia-Ukraine border, while approximately 1,000 sappers are involved in demining operations.
