Estonian Foreign Minister Suggests China Join US and Europe in Pressuring Putin

Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna has stated that China could exert significant influence on Russia and help facilitate a cessation of hostilities in Ukraine. He emphasized that Beijing should reconsider its stance and stop supporting Moscow through economic means.

“China claims it is not participating in this military conflict, but I have made it clear that it has enormous influence over Russia. This influence is increasing week by week as the Russian economy is in a weakened state,” Tsahkna said.

The Estonian diplomat believes that China’s participation in international pressure efforts could expedite the process of reaching a ceasefire. He highlighted that the European Union and the US continue to seek diplomatic avenues to exert influence over Russia.
