EU Plans to Admit New Countries on a 'Trial Basis' Without Full Membership Rights
Edita
The EU plans to admit new countries on a 'trial basis' without granting full membership rights. This was announced by a representative of the European Commission, emphasizing that the aim of this approach is to ensure the phased integration of candidate countries into the EU system.
According to European Commission member Kosa, during the trial period, countries will be able to participate in a number of European programs but will not have decision-making powers. He added that if these countries fail to meet EU requirements, they may be excluded from the process.
This initiative is seen as a new mechanism to accelerate the EU's enlargement process while maintaining the union's standards and criteria.
