Drivers Face Fines as Ministry of Internal Affairs Warns

The Police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs reminds that foreign driver's licenses, including those held by dual citizens, can only be used to operate vehicles for up to three months.

According to a statement, the legislative change that came into effect on August 2 provided an exemption allowing foreigners to drive with their foreign licenses within three months of entering Armenia. The three-month exemption period expired on November 2.

Individuals who continue to drive vehicles with foreign driver's licenses for more than three months will face administrative penalties in the form of a 10,000 AMD fine.

At the same time, the Ministry of Internal Affairs urges those citizens whose three-month period has not yet expired to carry the documentation proving their entry into Armenia for clarity on the calculation of the deadline.
