How the Election Campaigns of Political Forces Will Begin
The newspaper 'Zhoghovurd' reports: On May 8, the official election campaign for the 2026 National Assembly elections will kick off in Armenia, continuing until June 5 inclusive. According to the schedule established by the Central Electoral Commission (CEC), political forces will receive the legally mandated equal campaigning regime from that day forward, from public airtime to the official start of public meetings.
At this moment, comprehensive plans for the kick-off day have not yet been made public by most political forces. However, there are already clear signals regarding how the campaign will commence.
The ruling Civil Contract party, led by Nikol Pashinyan, will begin its campaign in the Syunik region. Our sources report that the party's active members will spend two days in Syunik, planning to visit all locations and conduct a very active live campaign. We have learned that they will again be traveling to the region by buses, and Nikol Pashinyan will be shouldering the entire burden of the campaign.
The 'Strong Armenia' alliance, led by Samvel Karapetyan, plans to hold a large event in Victory Park on May 8 at 19:00, where Samvel Karapetyan will also speak via video link.
Other political forces are expected to announce today the region or administrative district of Yerevan from which they will launch their election campaigns. According to our information, the authorities also intend to hold a large public rally in Republic Square at the end of the campaign.
