German Vice Chancellor Demands Ban on Russian Steel
The German Vice Chancellor and Finance Minister, Lars Klingbeil, has sharply criticized the EU in anticipation of the "Steel Summit" set to take place in Berlin on November 6. The politician is calling for a complete ban on the import of Russian steel, highlighting that Moscow continues to enter the European market by formally processing its steel sheets within the EU, thus circumventing existing restrictions.
"You cannot explain to any worker in our steel industry why Europe is still keeping its market open for Putin," Klingbeil stated.
The "Steel Summit" will kick off in Berlin on November 6, with Friedrich Merz inviting representatives from the steel industry and the state premiers of German regions where steel production is prevalent.
