386 Intoxicated Drivers Identified: Details
From October 27 to November 3, during operations in the capital, Yerevan police uncovered a total of 5,165 traffic violations, leading to the towing of 115 vehicles. Among these, 176 drivers were identified as intoxicated, while 251 drivers were found to be operating without a valid driver's license.
Other infractions included 23 violations related to registration numbers, 1,197 instances of driving without seatbelts, 19 violations for not using child safety seats, 629 for smoking while driving, 324 for using phones while driving, 161 for pedestrians crossing in non-designated areas, and an additional 1,556 varied violations. Furthermore, 118 vehicles were discovered operating without compulsory insurance contracts (APPA), 230 had not undergone technical inspection, 78 had malfunctioning headlights, and 65 had tinted windshields and side windows. Additionally, 90 individuals were arrested on various suspicions and taken to municipal police departments.
During the same period in the regions, police identified 13,364 traffic law violations, which resulted in 308 vehicles being towed. Among these, 210 drivers were found intoxicated, 438 without driver's licenses, and four individuals were caught driving with fake registration certificates. Violations included 34 related to registration numbers, six for driving with falsified plates, 3,368 for not wearing seatbelts, 172 for not using child safety seats, 486 for smoking while driving, 584 for using phones while driving, 100 for pedestrians crossing in unauthorized locations, 2,221 for speeding, and an additional 3,326 varied infractions. Moreover, 436 vehicles were operating without insurance, 926 had not passed technical inspection, and 867 had malfunctioning headlights, including 49 heavy-duty vehicles, while 143 had tinted windshields and side windows. Additionally, 44 individuals were arrested on various suspicions and taken to territorial divisions of the municipal police.
