Train Carrying Ethanol Derails and Explodes in Mexico
A train loaded with ethanol in Mexico derailed and exploded. According to official reports, there are no fatalities, although several crew members and rescue service personnel have been injured, as reported by local media.
Due to the resultant smoke, residents have been evacuated and a restricted zone of two kilometers has been established to mitigate the risk of further explosions.
Authorities are investigating whether the derailment was caused by a broken rail or potential brake failure, as several flammable cargo cars overturned and caught fire during the incident.
