Syrian President Ahmad al-Shara to Visit the USA

According to sources, Ahmad al-Shara's upcoming visit to Washington will mark a significant step towards improving relations between the two countries. This will be the first time in the last quarter of a century that the Syrian leader visits the USA and meets with the President of the country.

It is noted that Donald Trump and Ahmad al-Shara had previously met in May in Saudi Arabia during the Gulf Cooperation Summit. During that meeting, the US President urged Syria to begin normalizing relations with Israel and expressed positive remarks about al-Shara, highlighting his "strong past and fighting spirit."

In June, Washington lifted several economic restrictions imposed on Syria, and in July, the State Department removed the "Al-Nusra" group from the list of banned organizations, which had previously been led by al-Shara.

Syria's Foreign Minister Assad al-Shibani also confirmed the details of the visit, stating that Ahmad al-Shara, as the transitional period president, will officially travel to the USA in November. This information has been reported by the state news agency SANA.
