Trapped Bear Cub Rescued and Transferred to Rescue Center
On October 30, 2025, the Environmental and Mining Inspection Body received a report from the Eco-Patrol Service regarding a bear cub trapped in a fenced area in the administrative territory of Hermon, Vayots Dzor region. Inspection employees proceeded to the site, where they discovered approximately a 2-year-old bear cub caught in a makeshift metal snare.
During the site inspection, three additional metal snares were also found and confiscated. To treat the cub's injuries and facilitate its eventual return to the wild, the wild animal was transferred to the Caucasian Biodiversity Shelter of the Wildlife and Cultural Values Conservation Foundation in Vayrjar.
A report regarding the apparent crime has been submitted to the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia.
