The Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure of Armenia, Davit Khudatyan, has announced that the state budget for 2026 will allocate 2.5 billion AMD for the renovation of Yerevan's metropolitan infrastructure. During the budget discussions in the Parliament, the minister highlighted that an additional 2 billion AMD would be provided for the construction of the new metro station, while 1 billion AMD would be aimed at organizing passenger transport services.

In total, the funding allocated for the three projects will amount to 5.5 billion AMD. The construction of the new station is planned to be carried out within the framework of the Urban Development Program, which has a total budget of 16.6 billion AMD.

The program also includes the construction of the Isakov-Arshakunyats road section with a budget of 7 billion AMD. According to the Yerevan Municipality, the project for the 'Ajapnyak' metro station is in the final stages, with construction set to begin at the end of 2025 or the beginning of 2026. The total estimated cost of the project is around 250 million USD, and the construction duration is expected to last up to five years.
