What Ukraine Must Do for the US to Resume Arms Supplies: Vance
The United States does not rule out the possibility of resuming arms and military equipment supplies to Ukraine if Kyiv initiates peace negotiations. This was confirmed by U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance during a press briefing with journalists in Congress.
He was asked to clarify how long the halt in military assistance to Kyiv would last, which was announced by the U.S. administration the day before. “(U.S. President Donald Trump) has indicated that he wants the Ukrainians to come to the negotiating table. I think when the Ukrainians sit at the negotiating table, everything will be on the table,” Vance responded.
On February 28, Volodymyr Zelensky visited the White House to meet with Trump. During their conversation in the presence of journalists, a dispute arose, during which Trump pointed out Zelensky's disrespectful attitude towards the U.S., while Vance noted that he forgot to thank Washington for its support to Kyiv.
The press conference following the meeting was canceled, and the signing of an agreement between the U.S. and Ukraine regarding mineral resources did not take place. Trump issued a statement on the “Truth Social” social network, emphasizing that Zelensky had displayed disrespect and failed to express a willingness to resolve the Ukrainian conflict peacefully.
