Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has released a video detailing why the Catholicos cannot defrock Father Aram. He stated, "In essence, a sensational news from Ktrich Nersisyan, who has recalled that the Armenian Apostolic Church has a Code of Canon Law, invoking which he attempts to justify that Father Aram Asatryan cannot serve in the Holy Mass at Hovhannes Monastery due to being declared defrocked," the Prime Minister said.

He added, "The issue here is that according to the Code of the Armenians, Ktrich Nersisyan cannot be the Catholicos of All Armenians because he has violated the vow of celibacy, and as a result, is defrocked. Therefore, a defrocked individual cannot defrock someone else; consequently, Father Aram Asatryan can serve the Holy Mass at Hovhannes Monastery, and like last Sunday, this Sunday, I will also participate in the Holy Mass at Hovhannes Monastery."
