Georgia Supports Establishing Peace in the Caucasus, Says Papuashvili

The Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia, Shalva Papuashvili, met with the Chairman of the Armenian National Assembly's Committee on Science, Education, Culture, Diaspora, Sports, and Youth Affairs, Sisak Gabrielyan, along with committee members.

During the meeting, both sides noted the effective cooperation established between the legislative bodies of Georgia and Armenia and the positive dynamics of mutual visits. The importance of active communication between professional committees was highlighted.

The parties discussed ongoing events in the South Caucasus, stating that regional peace could have a positive impact on the development of the three countries. Papuashvili emphasized that Georgia has consistently advocated for peaceful resolution of the conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan, noting that current processes open new opportunities for the region.

Shalva Papuashvili also pointed out the significance of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's participation in the fifth Tbilisi Silk Road Forum held in October and the working visit of National Assembly Speaker Alen Simonyan to Georgia.
