Trump Again Promises to Resolve Ukraine Conflict
U.S. President Donald Trump, commenting on the postponed meeting with the President of Russia in Budapest, has stated that he is confident the Ukraine conflict will also be resolved. "We have already resolved nine wars. No, eight. Soon there will be another one. I think the next will be the Ukraine conflict. I thought it would be easier. We resolved the Middle East conflict, but this one is not yet resolved, but it will be," Trump mentioned during a meeting with businessmen in Tokyo.
In response to this statement, the Kremlin emphasized that the Ukraine conflict is an extremely complex issue that cannot be resolved at once. Earlier, Trump announced that the meeting scheduled in Budapest with Vladimir Putin has been canceled. In turn, Russian President Vladimir Putin noted that it was about rescheduling.
Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov stated that Trump was the first to suggest postponing the meeting, indicating that holding a summit in Budapest at this stage is not advisable.
