Israel Opposes Turkish Military Involvement in Gaza

Israel will not accept the presence of Turkish armed forces in Gaza as part of a plan proposed by the United States to bring an end to military operations in the Palestinian territories.

According to Aktualnaya Kamera, relations between Israel and Turkey have significantly deteriorated after Ankara criticized Israel's air and ground operations in Gaza.

Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar stated that countries intending to send their armed forces must demonstrate at least fair treatment towards Israel. “They may not be obliged to support Israel, but they also cannot adopt hostile positions. Unfortunately, over the last two years, Turkey, under President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, has pursued a hostile policy towards Israel, which includes not only rhetoric but also diplomatic and economic actions,” said Sa'ar.

Sources indicate that Tel Aviv negatively assesses any attempt that might allow for the deployment of Turkish troops in Gaza, even in the form of a peacekeeping mission. Israeli authorities are concerned that such a presence could disrupt the security balance and exacerbate regional tensions.

Relations between Turkey and Israel remain strained in the context of the ongoing war situation in Gaza. The U.S. peace proposals have yet to receive consent from the parties involved, and the potential involvement of Turkish troops has become yet another source of contention between the two nations.
