We Need to Create a Platform to Assess the Effectiveness of Armenia's Diplomatic Activities: Khachatur Sukiasyan
During the preliminary discussions of the 2026 state budget in the National Assembly, Khachatur Sukiasyan, a member of the 'Civil Contract' faction, praised the work of Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan, noting that in recent years Armenia has been able to expand the geography of its diplomatic, political, and strategic partnerships.
“Our goal should be to strengthen Armenia by having economic partnerships that will help us become more influential. Now we need a platform where the outcomes of each mission can be analyzed—what benefits Armenia gained or what relations were formed,” Sukiasyan mentioned.
He emphasized that the activation of the country's foreign relations has already yielded results, but a mechanism is necessary to evaluate the economic outcomes of diplomatic and political efforts. “Difficult times have passed, relations have changed. Now we need to create a platform that transforms these expenses—around 19 billion—into strengthening Armenia,” the parliamentarian added.
Thanking for the recognition, Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan noted that such an approach is commendable. “We often wish that after missions, our partners send notes or summaries to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding the outcomes of their meetings. This would aid in systematic analysis,” the minister said.
