Azerbaijani MP Calls for Arrest and Extradition of Ruben Vardanyan, Robert Kocharyan, and Serzh Sargsyan to Baku
Azerbaijani MP Gudrat Hasanguliyev stated that the "restoration of Azerbaijan's full sovereignty over Nagorno-Karabakh" greatly depends on the principled position of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, as reported by Haqqin.az.
The MP emphasized the necessity for Azerbaijan to closely cooperate with Turkic states. "Unfortunately, Russia is currently not interested in a final resolution to the conflict. In this respect, serious work is needed with Turkey and Turkic states. We and our allies need to make appropriate proposals to Russia, present demands, and persuade them to accept them. In other words, Moscow must either recognize our sovereign rights over Karabakh and contribute to peace or lose Azerbaijan and Turkey," he stated.
Gudrat Hasanguliyev also asserted that Ruben Vardanyan, Robert Kocharyan, and Serzh Sargsyan should be arrested and extradited to Baku. "There should be informational support to enable Azerbaijani special services to detain Vardanyan and other separatists and bring them to Baku. War criminals, including Kocharyan and Sargsyan, must be extradited to Azerbaijan. If Pashinyan does not sign a peace agreement in the near future, he will either be removed from power and imprisoned or shot, like Prime Minister Vazgen Sargsyan and Speaker Stepan Demirchyan in October 1999. Afterwards, we will either have to reconcile with the maintenance of the current status quo in Karabakh or enter into a new large bloody war with Armenia, which Russia openly supports. Therefore, we must restore sovereignty over Karabakh right now," he said.
