Nikol Pashinyan: Those Caravans Will Be Robbed in 5 Minutes, Leaving Only a Big Piece in the Camel's Ear
During a discussion in the National Assembly on the draft state budget for 2026, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan emphasized that the well-being of every citizen is directly dependent on the quality of the budget and the provision of revenues. He stated that the state budget is the primary tool for organizing the pan-Armenian life and ensuring citizens' welfare.
According to him, the budget should be perceived as the "family budget" of the republic, where the participation and responsibility of each individual are crucial.
"The state budget is the result of our joint work. If the budget is insufficient, it means we are not working effectively enough. The well-being of every citizen depends on how much the state and community budgets spend on them," Pashinyan noted.
The Prime Minister also elaborated on how the budget is formed, highlighting the importance of tax payments and transparency in circulation. "If the money paid by a citizen—for example, when buying sour cream—is not accounted for by a cash register, that money does not reach the budget but is stolen. The shadow economy harms the state and every citizen in this way," he said.
Pashinyan added that an adequate level of budget revenues and expenditures ensures the country’s infrastructure, healthcare, educational systems, and the foundations of citizens' security.
