Belarus Calls Lithuania's Border Closures Provocation

Belarusian Foreign Minister Maksim Ryzhenkov has described Lithuania's closure of border crossing points as a "provocation." According to him, this move is being used as a justification for actions taken against Belarus and Russia. This was reported by TASS.

It is noted that Lithuanian authorities closed several crossing points on the border with Belarus today, imposing restrictions indefinitely. This followed an incident recorded on October 22, when Lithuania announced that its airspace had been violated by meteorological probes from Belarusian territory, which, according to the Lithuanian side, were used for the illegal transport of cigarettes. In this regard, Vilnius sent an official note to Minsk, stating that such actions violate international law.

Additionally, it should be noted that in recent days, more than 1,600 trucks have accumulated at the Belarusian-Lithuanian border due to limited operations at the crossing points.
