August 8 Was a Turning Point in Armenia's Unblocking Process, Mirzoyan
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, Ararat Mirzoyan, stated that the events of August 8 in Washington were pivotal in the unblocking process of Armenia and the region.
According to him, the agreements reached that day have laid the foundation for further negotiations, marking a cornerstone phase. The minister recalled that prior to this, various manipulations regarding the agreement were circulating, but now there is 'not even a distant hint' of them.
Mirzoyan emphasized that this refers to a major unblocking initiative aimed at opening or, if necessary, constructing new transport infrastructures between Armenia and neighboring countries.
'Armenia has been blockaded for over 30 years, and now we are talking about real unblocking. The agreements also include the connection between Azerbaijan and Nakhchivan, which will operate under Armenia's jurisdiction,' Mirzoyan stressed.
According to him, all communications that will be opened or reconstructed will operate entirely under the territorial jurisdiction of the Republic of Armenia, ensuring the country's control and protection of interests.
