Armenia Must Care for Established Peace, Says Pashinyan
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan emphasizes that peace with Azerbaijan is already a fact, and it is necessary to make it stable and institutional.
During the discussion of the draft law on the state budget of the Republic of Armenia for 2026 in the National Assembly, Pashinyan stated that peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan should be viewed as an established fact. He highlighted that Armenia is still unfamiliar with the experience of living in peace, as the country has been in a conflict situation since the first days of its independence.
According to Pashinyan, it is essential to shape a mentality and value system compatible with the conditions of peace. "We must care for the established peace to solidify it and make it institutional," the Prime Minister noted. He also added that work is ongoing with Azerbaijan in this direction, both through diplomatic channels and at various levels.
Pashinyan recalled that recent contacts have occurred at both parliamentary and deputy prime minister levels, and daily work is being carried out through remote formats. "If our relations with Azerbaijan were previously framed by conflict, now peace is an integral part of our daily work," Pashinyan stated.
