I Will Soon be in Armenia and We Will Fight Together, Says Masis Mayor

My return ticket to Armenia is on October 28. Nothing in my plans has changed. I completely rule out the thought of fleeing from Nikol and his puppet judicial system. This was stated by Masis Mayor Davit Hambartsumyan.

“I will soon be in Armenia and we will all fight together for my freedom, the freedom of the Holy Fathers, other political prisoners, and the freedom of our entire country,” he wrote.

It is noteworthy that yesterday the Yerevan Criminal Court (Judge Zh. Chichoyan) announced a verdict sentencing Davit Hambartsumyan, the head of the Masis community and a candidate for Prime Minister, to 6 years and 3 months in prison, revoked his bail, and applied detention as a measure of restraint.

“There is no fact, no witness, no evidence, no other circumstance that could even slightly substantiate my guilt. Literally, nothing. The decision to imprison me on fabricated charges after 7.5 years speaks to the fact that the sanction applied against me is exclusively political. The criminal case initiated regarding the incident that occurred 7.5 years ago has been dismissed concerning all participants in that incident, and only this authority has considered me as the organizer, doing everything to ensure that I end up in detention. In other words, there are no participants in the incident, but there is an organizer,” Hambartsumyan noted in his post.
